Message: So in any interaction with a government department or office, there is bound to be some minor inconvenience, or roadblock that leads the average person to discontent. This place is understaffed, often under construction, and almost always difficult to navigate. The ability of the Government to drown a person in bureaucracy is formidable, I would suggest that if you have difficulty understanding the legalise or the complex jargon used in their forms that you bring a third party mediator. I would also suggest that you use your phone to record any conversation taken place between you and your government, I have had a person there tell me one thing and another person tell me the opposite, who is right? Best to protect yourself. Also get copies of any forms you fill out and sign to keep for your own records. Lastly; my advice when dealing with any community service provider, is to remain calm and polite, they have no problem having you removed from the premises, even if you're only frustrated and sharing your own thoughts, these places tend to rule with iron thumbs and crush you beneath them. Let them, as you will get much further with honey than vinegar.

Message: Due to COVID they recommend calling before visiting the Ontario office but the phone number listed currently states the office is closed contrary to the message that claims the office hours are 7:30 - 5pm. Left a message but no response. Had to visit the office after several days of attempting to call and getting sent to vm. Upon visiting the office I was given competent help quickly and my issue was forwarded and resolved. Please update this listing to a phone number that actually connects to department of aging and persons with disabilities.

Message: I've had good and bad experiences there; usually by no fault of an employee. Worked with us as fast as they could to get us assistance when my husband was out of work. Grateful.
