Message: Yes everyone calm down. Any business that caters to roughly over 1, 000 or more people a day will have it's faults at times but hey it's the best clinic I've been too and I've tried them all. Coda is not there to save your life. It is not meant to be a a place where you go and talk to your counselor everyday. It's a medication assistance program ran by the federal government people! This is what you get when you put the government in your life. Plus most people there are not waking up at 5am every morning and going to work because I get there everyday at 5 a. m. and there's like maybe a handful of people like 20 people that actually wake up at 4:30 or 4 in the morning and go to work everyday by 6 or 7. That just shows you how most people there do not work and live off food stamps in the social security which is also government assistancelying on government assets and tax money then your life will be miserable. Go get a job and stop living on your fixed income of $900 a month plus food stamps.

Message: That used to be like a big family but now they run it like a jail. Although it's still better than the other ones I guess depending on what you're doing who you are and what you want to get away with. And if you want to do good you just got up not if you didn't all the drama.

Message: Treatment is as good as you make it. Unfortunately CODA is a non-profit and the turn over of employees is way to high! They can't pay enough to keep the good people. Counsellors and nurses come and go as if there was a revolving door. It's really hard for a gentleman that's in his 60ies to get counseling from a 30 something guy or gal that wasn't born when I started using 55 years ago. Coda tries their best but most clients don't get what they need except a place to meet and exchange war stories and deal drugs.

Message: I have been too a lot of treatment facilities, not one has ever had staff as caring and attentive as Coda. As always treatment is going to be what you make it; this place has actually changed my life. I am never stressed to go in, I am almost always happier when I leave, after talking with them or having a counseling session. The staff has adopted me, they truly make me feel taken care off, loved and special. If you want something better or your even just thinking about it come try. It’s better than being sick all the time. Recovery can happen I thought I was going too use my whole life…… I am now clean. It feels amazing.

Message: I’ve been a priso…. Uh, Patient at Burnside CODA in Portland for over a decade now 2008-2022(currently). I’ve had several counselors, attended countless classes and groups that helped me overcome a lot. As long as I adhered to the program I have NEVER had any issue or problems like in some negative reviews. From what I’ve seen first hand it’s usually the clients that are directly responsible for the negative experience. Drug use and addiction clients may be so mentally drained from years of untreated addiction that the critical balance in our brain chemistry is —for lack of a better term-- toast. In short, we become irrational, moody, unreasonable, and sometimes act like a victim, or get angry when there are repercussions to our actions we don’t like. All that you need to do is follow the guidelines and personal treatment plan set by you and your counselor and there will be minimal, if any, serious issues. In my experience they are very understanding and compassionate but will strictly adhered to policies. Remember, they have heard every excuse and reason in the book.. TLDNR: Great people, adequate counseling and direction to any resources you may have a need for. Never had a single problem when following treatment plan and clean UAs. Lines seem to be longer on Mon. Wed. and Fri.
