Message: I was there for 3months and staff was always by my side. They gave me support if I needed it as well as a couple nudges when I was too scared. It was so hard leaving the unit, but I know I shouldn’t stay in faculties. I also here people complaining about not being able to touch each other while yes that’s very difficult it’s for safety being able to teach each other could result in SA or harm.

Message: My 7 year old is at Pary Center and I couldn't be happier with the treatment he's receiving there. The staff are wonderful with the kids and very accommodating with visitors. I've seen first hand how these kids are treated and I believe my child is in the best place to received the treatment he needs. I've seen the staff playing with the kids, teaching them how to roller blade, riding bikes with them. They are very active with the kids. The campus is huge and beautiful. There's lots of activities so no reason for any of the kids to get bored. There's a beautiful garden with a meditation area. They even have chickens. There's lots of beautiful medicinal plants growing all over campus. The therapists are great too.

Message: I worked for Trillium Family Services for about a decade (2012 - 2021 - so almost! ). I have been a skills trainer, a therapist and a program manager. It's an excellent organization to work for if you are interested in working with vulnerable youth and their families. The work is very challenging/demanding while also highly rewarding. The experience you will obtain while working here is extremely valuable and will set you up for success in anything you decide to do after. It is a non-profit organization which often means there are financial limitations for the company at large. I highly recommend employment with Trillium! My days with the organization are some of my favorites in my time working with children, teens and families. Thanks, Trillium for being such an awesome employer and mental health provider in the community! Keep up the good work!

Message: Trillium was my first job in mental health, I discovered skills and was mentored by some of the kindest, caring leaders I’ve ever worked with. After a few years I was able to take my skills elsewhere, and the whole time missed the community, support, collaboration and guidance I had with my team at Trillium. This is the only place I’ve ever wanted to work twice.. The work is challenging, but rewarding. Non profit mental health work is underfunded, under supported and misunderstood so it comes with a lot of challenging aspects, but seeing the mission put into action, and seeing the lives of these kids change for the better is an unparalleled experience.

Message: My experience as a previous employee, while incredibly challenging and emotional due to the high acuity of the youth we served, was critical to my career path. Trillium provided ongoing education and ensured staff were well trained and equipped to manage the most critical of circumstances and mental health crisis. My Team and management was incredibly supportive, both in debriefing incidents and in times of crisis. There was a consistent focus on improving clients’ mental health, physical and emotional needs while also supporting staff to ensure those needs were met. I look back on my time at Trillium and am thankful for the support network that grew from that experience. A group of kind and compassionate individuals, putting their own well-being at risk in order to support these youth in times of struggle and learn the skills they need to reintegrate into the community. I am a better, more empathetic and capable social worker today because of my experience at Trillium.

Message: I worked at the Parry Center from 2013-2014 and it is still my favorite job I have ever had. I loved the therapeutic relationships I was able to build with children and see their growth over time working with the multidisciplinary team. I had great working relationships with all the team members, from fellow skills trainers to the kitchen staff to the therapists to the psychiatrists to the horticulture therapist, who were all passionate about helping children and their families during challenging times.
