Message: I am very grateful to the employees Tillamook Care Inc. While in their office one day I watched a gentleman walk in and he politely asked if he could get some help. He explained he was homeless and needed to travel north for a family emergency. It was. just a few minutes and then? Not only did they get him travel assistance in the form of a bus ticket, but from somewhere in a backroom, the worker reappeared with a new tent and some basic hygiene items in a backpack and handed it all to him. I saw his face almost turn to tears as he received the care package. I felt that wave of emotion being in the room with them. In a world that is changing so fast, the same thing could happen to anyone of us at anytime? It was one of the most heartfelt acts of kindness I had seen in a very long time. They dont just say it, they do it. They help with the needs of the less fortunate right here in Tillamook. Here, you cannot always see the homeless camps, like you can driving through Portland, but they are here and Care sees all of them. They extend a hand if possible, to those people in situations that were beyond their control. Their acts if kindness help them to gain back some control and better their lives. Care Inc. is part of what makes this town a better and much safer place. Thank you for remaining open even when at risk, during the covid crisis. Please keep doing what you do so well!
